Spa, swimming pool and hydrotherapy pool water is tested for the presence of named pathogens and ‘Total Viable Count’ (TVC). The named pathogens which are tested for as part of this test suite include Pseudomonas aeruginosa (which can cause skin irritation, ear infection & respiratory issues) and E.coli/Coliforms (which signifies faecal contamination). The Total Viable Count test is used as general indicator of water hygiene.
